Kirkland Uncorked is Art, Food and Wine on the Waterfront

New this year, local restaurants battle it out for the eastside’s best burger

(Kirkland, Wash.) March 5, 2013 --The City of Kirkland uncorks its signature summer festival, Kirkland Uncorked, July 19-21, 2013, in Marina Park on the shores of Lake Washington. The event celebrates the best of Washington’s art, food and wine and features the Uncorked Market and a new burger showdown.

The Tasting Garden (21+ with valid ID, admission required) offers guests the opportunity to taste from more than 80 Washington wines, sample regional cuisine from Kirkland-area restaurants and be entertained by the Northwest’s favorite bands on the main stage. In addition to grilling demonstrations on the beach throughout the weekend, guests will not want to miss these special foodie events:

  • Friday: Burger Brawl, a showdown for the eastside’s best burger
  • Saturday: Annual Grill-Off with Washington’s top chefs

Kirkland Uncorked guests can also wander the Promenade, free and open to all ages, to shop the Uncorked Market featuring vendors with a variety of wares. The Arts for All Experience invites attendees to participate in art activities from clay throwing to sketching the landscape. Also in the Kirkland Uncorked Promenade are the Boat Show and CityDog Magazine’s Cover Dog Model Contest on Sunday at noon.

Kirkland Uncorked is a benefit for the Hope Heart Institute, an eastside nonprofit organization. For over 50 years, the Hope Heart Institute has made heart disease more treatable, beatable and preventable. A portion of all admission fees collected in the Tasting Garden will directly fund local research and education to fight heart disease.

Eastside’s Largest Wine & Food Festival Returns July 19-20-21, 2013

Kirkland, June 3, 2013 – Kirkland Uncorked, Wine on the Waterfront, announces tickets on sale for the 7th annual event taking place at Marina Park in Kirkland, WA July 19-20-21, 2013.

“Wine and food aficionados from across the Northwest visit Kirkland to take part in a weekend-long culinary classic that has become an iconic fixture in the epicurean landscape.  Kirkland Uncorked features over 70 wines from award-winning Washington wineries, 15 of the Eastside’s trendsetting chefs, 1st annual Eastside Burger Brawl and Food Truck Feast, 20 restaurants serving bite-sized feasts, and the Northwest’s most prestigious celebrity chefs and culinary personalities all envibing it on the shores of Lake Washington,” said Andrea Kramer, the Festival’s Associate Director.

(Kirkland, WA) June 6, 2013– The 7th annual Kirkland Uncorked, Wine on the Waterfront, is featuring 20 wineries that will be pouring over 50 wines. The event, a benefit for the Hope Heart Institute, takes place July 19-20-21, 2013 at Marina Park in Kirkland, WA.

Have a taste of the eastside (vs the westside) at Kirkland Uncorked, July 19-21

Kirkland, WA – July 8, 2013 – Kirkland’s three-day waterfront celebration gives guests a taste of what the eastside (vs the west side) has to offer. From restaurant samples, to grilling classes, to the Friday Burger Brawl, Saturday Grill-Off, and Sunday Food Truck Feast, Kirkland Uncorked is the food festival to attend July 19-21.

RESTAURANT SAMPLING

The Kirkland Uncorked Tasting Garden offers a true bite, with scrumptious tastes from over 40 top restaurants, all included in the price of admission. Guests are encouraged to indulge their taste buds and try a variety of different foods, from restaurants including Anthony’s Homeport Kirkland, Brix Wine Café, Earls Kitchen and Bar, and Volterra.

GRILLING CLASSES

Celebrated chefs will share their signature recipes and cooking secrets in the Tasting Garden’s Grilling Classes, all with Lake Washington as the stunning backdrop.

DAILY FOOD HIGHLIGHTS

Friday at 5:00pm, guests can participate in the Burger Brawl and sample an array of different burgers and sliders, determining which restaurant takes the title of best Eastside burger.

Saturday at 5:00pm, three of the regions best chefs -- donned in red chef aprons in honor of festival beneficiary the Hope Heart Institute -- face-off in the highly anticipated Grill-Off

Sunday (all-day) features a Food Truck Feast, with 20 famed Northwest food trucks to sample from.

Guests can pair all this delicious food with over 80 wines from award-winning Washington wineries, or go beyond the grape with signature summer cocktails and a beer garden serving a variety of Pyramid brews on tap.
